Climate control clarification
Quick question for Q5 owners on climate control. Auto works fine, I can also select distribution and seat warming independently for the front seats, however when I change the fan speed for the passenger or driver, the other fan setting changes as well. I don't have synchronize on, so I'd expect these to remain independant as well. Is this how it's supposed to work. The manual doesn't provide a lot of detail. Thanks.

Re: Climate control clarification
Push and hold the driver's side temperature control knob, that will sync both sides.

Re: Climate control clarification
Thanks Afretes...that's actually handy because it means I can synchronize without having to go into the MMI menus. However, my questions was around the fan control. If I push the fan button on either the driver or passenger side and turn the knob to change the speed (expecting that only that side will change), the fan button light on the other side comes on and the fan speed changes on that side as well. It's like the fan button forces synchronization. I can't seem to control the fan separately for passenger and driver. I was curious whether this is normal behaviour, or if I should be able to control the fan separately on the two sides (like I can with the temperature in auto).
Thanks. |
Re: Climate control clarification
I don't think you can control fan separately. I've tried and can't. I assumed that's as per design.

Re: Climate control clarification
Tks Warcity...at least now I know that's standard behaviour.
