Audi SQ5 Uhaul Trailer Hitch (2015)
Hi Audi Forum,
Has anyone installed a trailer hitch with Uhaul?
My MMI screen stopped working. The Volkswagen dealership (Audi authorized) says that the electrical harness for the hitch caused the problem, causing the MMI system to get shorted. They had the vehicle for a month and were just about finished - just needed a disc update. Last minute, they said that the control unit (the device that accepts the disc) does not work - cost of control unit is over $5000. Something does not add up to me, mind you that we are still under warranty but this repair is not covered under warranty as it is a "third party installation". Total cost of repair is running at 11k total and still going. This includes 2 MMI screens at $1400 each (one new one, and one that they broke during repair and said got shorted). $2000 for labour. $5000 for the control unit. The rest is smaller items like the new disc and tax.
Does anyone have any experience or advice with this? Any Audi techs that can help? I can provide more info if necessary.
