Default AFS Adaptive Headlights

Hi Everyone a couple of weeks ago I purchased my second Q5 it’s a 2015 V6 S Line fully loaded, the first one I had was scrapped in a rear end accident.
This one when I got it the dealer told me there’s a problem with it that he’s not going to fix I’m buying it as is, well it turns out the problem is with the adaptive headlights.
i’ve gone on YouTube diy’s to see if I can figure out how to fix it myself, after doing a bit of research and find myself here and still have the problem.
i managed to take the passenger side headlight out and opened up every opening there is to see if there is à broken wire well no luck there.
I've heard to get the drivers side headlight out you have to remove the bumper. Is this true?
Anyway today was a nice day and I washed the car and started to look into the problem again. Just unplugged the drivers side headlight and plugged it back in.
starting the car to see if the warning light went out
but as I started the car I noticed that my headlights move up and down before settling into the position they should be in. If the AFS was defective why are they moving up and down?
any input about this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Tom
