2007 Audi Q7 - MMI Display Screen Flickers/Blurs
Hi Guys,
I have a 2007 Audi Q7... The MMI screen used to work fine in summer but since the winter started The MMI Display (NAV) screen flickers every time i go over a bump or if the car shakes, by flickering i mean everything on the screen would shake and sometimes even disappear (with weird vertical colorful lines that appear just like if you hit a laptop screen and it breaks) and would appear like mashed/blurry, if i am playing a CD the sound would continue to play and won't cut just the screen would do weird flickering and move around left to right, it would get fixed by itself after a while...or if i shut the car down and start again...
I would appreciate an advice as to where should i start the troubleshooting from? Can this be caused by some sort of a fuse? May be a wire has come loose somewhere...
has anyone had this problem...
any sort of help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Warcity,
no, the warranty expired in Aug 2011...
yea i was thinking that its a loose wire somewhere that moves once the car shakes, Where should i start looking from, i tried to tap the side of centre console and the dashboard with my hand but the screen doesn't shake then, its only when the tires go over a bump, not sure where to strat the troubleshooting from, i am a newbie with Q7's, is there a step by step instructions on how i can pull out the centre console assembly or the dash board, i dont wana take it to the dealer, they'll just rip me off, do you know of any good Audi electricians who can look at this and don't rip me off?
thanks for your reply...

Electrical work always scares me specially on German cars.
What I recommend is for you to find a shop in your area who specializes in German cars. They have the knowledge and tools to troubleshoot. My only concerns is if you start looking at this, other areas might be impacted too.
