Default Audi 2011 Q5 transmission

My transmission is trash! There is a recall, the filters originally installed can come loose. The dealer has to drop the transmission and replace two filters. THERE IS A SERVICE ADVISORY!

Default Re: Audi 2011 Q5 transmission

The transmission on my Q 5 2011 was repaired lucky for me one week left on the warranty. Otherwise it would have been $1300 plus labour plus tax. Audi knows the original Automatic Transmission Filters 2 of them can come loose and stop the hydraulics from shifting the gears. They have replaced the 2 ATF units with new ones from another supplier. The dealer said Audi won't cover them if a vehicle is out of warranty.

I think this is poor since they are aware of the potential failure in these units. The frequency of failure is low but nevertheless they know these filters can fail just like the fuel injectors and the oil issues which have extended warranty. This is the only failure I have had on my Audi Q-5 no oil or injector issues. The dealer did an excellent job repairing and the technician said he had only seen two others with this problem where the filters drop out of their housing causing the failure.

Regards
