Anyone have experience with cold air intakes?

Do these add any noticable power to the A4 or any of the other Audi models?

I had my HKS CAI kit with my K03 chipped, and K04. I feel I lose throttle response at low end when I was using it. It just gain a very little at high end, but it's so little that it can't even cover the power I lose at low end.

I think it's just the small diameter soft intake pipe that is causing the bottle neck.

Thanks a bunch for all your info and help in this forum and welcome to the community!

I currently use the Carbonio V2. I noticed better throttle response and heat soak takes a little long to sink in. Someone did before and after logs of this intake and saw and increase of 11g/s through MAF readings.

Keep in mind that you can't just dyno a car with some of these intakes. They are designed to draw air when the car is moving. No fan at the dyno can simulate the kind of wind speed you will get when the car is going.

BMC CDA on my 3.0 gives me increased torque throughout the rev range according to before and after VAG-logging. I've routed air in through the foglight grill.

How did you get a HP/Torque curve through VAG? Through the sheet calculation on ross-tech website?

Essentially (ie, the same formulae): channel 120 gives torque data in Nm. It's then just a matter of converting that to the more used (here in NA anyway) lb.ft. and hp (which includes rpm as a multiplicative factor). :)

Great post - the dyno graphs are great because they show that the intake never actually robs the engine of power or torque at any RPM range...which is a very positive sign obviously

Yeap, noticeably more power from mid to high end rev.

I recently installed an Evolution air intake into my A4...just got one question thats been nagging me for the past few days:

Will it damage my intake/engine if I drive through heavy rainstorms :?: :?: :?:

I heard from other forums that you shouldn't drive through puddles when u have an air intake installed cuz it'll suck too much water into your engine.
