Data for Revo stage 1 and 2

For the people like myself who searched for hard data on what a REVO flash will do for you.

2003 A4 1.8T 170,000 km
Manual 5 speed
Sport suspension model
Cone shaped K&N filter
Metal Diverter valve

Revo stage 1 was done By PG performance in Surrey BC in 2005. It is an awesome value in HP/$
(The car should never been allowed out of the factory with 170hp 180-190 should have been considered.)
The only downside in my case was a slight hesitation at about 3000rpm but I drove around it for years then read that a throttle body alignment would fix it.
It did fix the problem even though my guy with the VAG-COM said the alignment was shown on the vag-com to be correct.

I recently purchased a magna flow turbo back setup From Hot Exhaust.com for a great price. I then followed it with Revo Stage 2 . at Zensport in Victoria BC (great tuner shop)
The meat of powerband before the stage 2 flash was strong at around 2800rpm to 3300.
With stage 2 the meat of the powerband starts around 3300 and pulls very strongly. It will catch out people that are not familiar with a turbocharged engine. Good for a chuckle when you let a friend drive.
The higher powerband affected the data taken from 2000rpm but the idea in using 2000 and 2500 starting points was to detect the lower rpm response changes.
The car is noticeably more sluggish at lower rpm than it used to be but I have not found this to be a problem, the extra kick that the car has at 3300 more than offsets the problem.

The Magnaflow has its louder times but at light load cursing around 110-130km/hr it simply offers a nice light performance tone. All in all only slightly louder than perfect for me I give it an 8. Miltek is quieter but twice the price and I personally don’t think it is a justified cost differance, the Magnaflow looked, at least on the outside to be very well done.

The Boost was mesured with vag-com at 18lb
other vag-com info was
90-120km 6.6sec
60-90mph13.3sec
During the vag-com run the air temp was 33 deg C

The data in the chart shows performance changes in the car, starting just before installation of the exhaust through to the stage 2 flash.
I tried to take the times as consistently as possible.

I would like to thank the guys at Autospiel German specialty in Victoria BC for all the fine work. They are true VW and Audi fans.

Gear RPM Stage 1 REVO------WithMagnaflow-----Stage 2 REVO
1
2 2000-5000 4.9-------------- 3.9-------------------3.4
3 2000-5000 7.8------------- 7.8------------------- 8.0
4 2500-4000 8.7------------- 8.2------------------- 6.3
5 2500-4000 15.5------------ 14.5------------------10.8
5 2500-4000 19.4-------------17.5------------------14.7 on Incline
5 3000-4000 11----------------9.0--------------------7.5

Sorry about the chart alighnment I can't make perfect
These numbers are an average of 3-5 readings and the air temp varied between 18-25 deg C during the time the data was collected
The incline time was done in exactly the same place every time
The other times were done on as level a surface as possible and often in the same areas.
No data was recorded for first gear due to the short time frame, about 2 sec.

I hope you find this data usefull when you ask what will a flash do to my car

Cheers
Always Pistonbroke
