Good evening to all.

I am new on this forum as I have just bought a used Audi.
I am very happy with my new audi but I am experiencing a problem
with it.

Here are the specs first:

93 Audi 90CS
Automatic
226,000
Everything has been changed before needed (timing belt =100,00km, etc)

Everytime I stop my car to park it, I go from Drive to Park and get a loud screeching noise from the gear box. I notice the noise more when I go from Drive to Reverse. Can anyone explain this problem to me and has anyone experienced the same problem?

I am not 100% positive that it is coming from my gearbox.
I have done some research on the net and most of the answers
pointed towards the gearbox. I was hoping to get some idea as to
what it could be before I take it to a new mechanic that only works
on Audi's.

Whenever the car is stopped and I put the car from Drive to Park, it makes
a loud grinding/screeching noise once it gets to reverse.

 

***UPDATE***

Once I drove the car into work....

I noticed that it makes the sound once I go through the motion from D to P at N.
It first happened yesterday when the temp was 40 degrees C.

I called my mechanic I know to ask what the problem might be and he told me it
sounds like a tranny synchronizer. I checked the tranny oil and I am okay in that dept.

P.S The mechanic isn't an audi mechanic...

Please, any help would be appreciated as I do not want to taken to the cleaners by a mechanic I don't know
