Audi90 - timing belt. plz help!

Question:
I had timing belt go, while travelling at about 50km/h, engaged clutch and nursed it quickly to side of road. Several restarts attempted as thought it may have been fuel pump.
Aware it is an interference engine, wondering what the likliehood and severity of any valve/head damage? It is an older model with many new parts, trying to decide whether is even worth to go ahead with belt repair hoping for the best, or would severe valve/ head damage be almost definate. Making repair bill out of range. Is a great car, very attached to it, and going to be very hard to part with

thanx

It's almost guaranteed that some valves are bent. Sorry to hear about it! I got my first ride in a B4 90 a few days ago, and I loved it for a 15-20 year old car! I'm thinking about that or an old S4 for a Winter beater.

Yea it was a great car, smooth throws and wound up really nice. Quattro's are great in the snow. Already hating this chop shop rental car. Thanx for advice. Does speed have anything to do with how much damage there will be?? Because I was travelling slow. Can u swap out motors or the head with a wreck? or is that even more expensive. Hate to let it go, everything else is in top shape :(
