Newbie question on CAD-USD pricing delta

Hi All,

Longtime lurker, first time poster...

I'm in the market for a Q5 in the Ottawa area. Given the CAD-USD near-parity recently, I've been browsing pricing sites on both sides of the border, in hopes of finding significantly lower pricing down south which I could take advantage of by importing a new Q5 up north, at near parity for the dollar.

Surprisingly, I'm finding MSRP to be roughly the same from both American and Canadian sites (CAD & USD)! This is counter-intuitive as I'm always hearing about huge savings by those who import from the US.

I know there are different incentives for American Audi Dealers, and street pricing varies by location, but I really expected over a $10K difference when pricing out fully-loaded Q5's.

Apart from the different tax rates, what am I missing?
