My previous car for the last four years was an 08 Phantom Black RS4. Loved the car but its time was up. Only mod on the car was a Miltec exhaust that made the car quite loud. I was originally concerned that I would have a tough time finding a good replacement with 4 doors and discounted the S4 as a lesser car, my mistake .
I finally buckled and drove an S4 6MT and was immediately sold. That said, I just picked up my new Moonlight Blue S4 Premium, 6MT and absolutly love this car.
Pro's
Just as quick as the RS4, probably quicker out of the hole
Overall the car is much bigger and more comfortable
Love the seats and find the controls much easier to use
The new MMI and B&O soundsystem is amazing
Nice to be out of black and really like a more stealthy appearance
A big savings in cost
Love the smoothness of the SC'd V6
Con's
Miss that V8 roar from the Miltec
Doesn't have the wow factor the old RS4 had
Not as tight as the RS4 but easilly fixed
Come spring I will be doing suspension and STaSIS tune, which will make it even quicker than the old RS4, I like the stealth sound so will avoid exhaust mods at this time.
Hope to see some of you around

Yes I did at Downtown Audi, The car wasn't that bad as I was pretty good about gas quality and generally wound it out fairly frenquently. I used preventitive maintenance to keep it clean. I was never shy about driving the car hard
The S4 has more torque at lower rpm's than the RS4 and seems to have a broader hp/tq curve. Don't get me wrong I loved my RS4 but am a realist about what it can do, I owned far more powerful cars in the past some of them highly modified. I got an S4 simpluy because there was no more RS4's at the time and it left a strong impression of what an excellent road car Audi makes. Call me a convert LOL
