New Member---02 A4 quattro 3.0L Timing belt

Hey guys

I'm new to the forms and live in Leduc (Edmonton), Alberta

I recently purchased a 2002 Audi A4 quattro 3.0. This is my first Audi I ever owned and I must say I'm in LOVE....

The car only has 80,000k and when I took it to the Audi dealership for a pre-inspect before my purchase they did mention that I should consider changing my timing belt/waterpump etc... They said even being under 100k to consider the year "100,000 k or 5 years" depends which comes first. Anyhow looks like the belt has never been changed on this car in the past and i'm looking to get it done. The dealership wants over 2500$ which I think is insane.

Is there anyone out there that would recommend a reliable VW/Audi mechanic shop that can do this for less? or someone who might be able to do a job like that on the side?

Thanks

Mike

Welcome, and $2500 to do a timing belt and water pump is INSANE, $900-$1200 maximum should be the price, unless you do it yourself for $400-$600 depending on what website you order from.

Welcome and congrats!! Timing belt is prob most expenivebthingnto get done. I've seen it done for 1400'here in Ontario. Tax in. Not sure what water pump is worth and install. Seems dealership is a bit high out there. Best of luck!
