Hi from Regina
I'm a recent 2016 Audi Q5 owner. I have owned 3 VW cars and added the Q5 in 2017. This forum has broad Canadian content and I have already researched some issues and responses that other owners have encountered. Great Forum!

Re: Hi from Regina
Mine is a 2.0T, Technik S-Line. Full load but not until 2018 do they include options like autonomous braking, lane departure and Apple Car Play but I wanted a used one and this had all the Sask tax paid (6%) and a set of winter wheels and tires. My friend has a 2015 BMW X3 and it is more sporty but I like the feel and quietness of the Audi.
I took it in today because when it was -25c the other day, upon starting it up when I was out shopping I got the dreaded "Steering defective, Do Not Drive vehicle" warning. The dealer tested it and said I need a new electric steering rack. Audi has had this issue on many of their models and thought they had it figured out.Typically shows up when it's very cold out. All under warranty so better now than later. I didn't buy the car from Taylor Audi in Regina but I know the service manager from when I bought VWs there before they split the dealerships and they have been very good. I found information on this forum so already it has been helpful. I will most likely do some poting about it.
The service package followed me so I have another 3 years of free oil changes. It feels solid and drives great. I own a 2012 GTI and had 2 - Jetta TDIs and like them all so we thought we would move up a notch. Love the quattro. New ones have something called ultra-quattro and I think it is an evolution that provides torque vectoring and additional electronic goodies but for now we love it.

Thanks that's some good info! I agree the bmw's are typically a bit sportier, I very briefly looked into the M3 and Mercedes C63 when I was looking for a new car but ended up going with my first choice, RS5, because it is my daily driver and you can't beat the quattro system in the winter! I went ice racing in it last weekend and even with the assists turned off it was hard to break it loose.

Dealership installed a new steering rack on 02/15/18 and I have had zero issues. Very happy with the service.
