Add me to this thread/class action lawsuit. Bought a 2012 Audi Q5 2.0 3 months ago, asked specifically if it was burning oil, no problems I was assured. Here we are. 77,000 kms on it, in perfect condition, and now burning oil. Feel like I just threw away $20,000. Help!!!! Pgjackman@sympatico.ca

i had the repair done to fix the oil consumption issue. $10K for new rings and pistons. I have been talking to Audi customer relations about this issue. I focused on 2 things; 1) the pollution caused by burning 1L of oil every 1,000 km 2) the unfairness of putting the burden on the buyer for a clear engineering mistake on these TFSI engines. Audi will not acknowledge the problem. Very frustrating. All we can do is be very vocal to our friends and colleagues about this situation. Audi is discounting the brand damage that this issue causes. I kept one of the pistons that was removed during the repair. I have used it in 2 presentations that I have given regarding poor quality management decision making.

2013 A4 needed an engine rebuild. Fought with the dealer and Audi Canada for a year before Audi Canada agreed to pay for 70 percent of engine rebuild to replace pistons.

Any idea if there is a class action in Canada on this issue? Count me in.. 2016 A5 … 1L per $800… just got the quote for $9k to repair

There was a class action suit in the US and it was decided in favour of consumers in October 2023. I contacted Audi Canada about my issue and they are saying that decision is not related to Canada. What an unbusiness like thing to say. The dealer also will not do anything to help out. I stopped driving my car unless it is an urgent need. Anyone know about a class action in Canada?
