2012 Audi TT RS Software Upgrade

APR, a tuner with good reputation for Audi's and Porsche, offers this software upgrade for the TTRS -- + 70 ft/lbs of torque for North American models for < $1K installed. Anyone try it? Opinions?

(I'd post the URL but can't do so until I've accumulated 5 posts .. wonder why??)

I presume , however, that doing so would void the warranty. I wonder if doing so would void the 5 yr. maintenance plan Audi offers as well. Anyone know?

Too bad Audi doesn't team up with a tuner, as does BMW with Dinan, to allow clients to enjoy these options within 'company limits'.

I believe this is the link you're looking for.
http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...tfsi_ttrs.html

I've had no issues with my car since getting APR installed. Some dealers dont even care as long as you let them know ahead of time so they dont wipe it and make you reflash.

Typically I would just put mine in stock mode(you can change between programs) before taking it in for service.

Many thanks Dr. Tofu for posting the URL. Yes, that's the one.

And thanks for your perspective on installing the ecu mod. It agrees with a liberal interpretation of my manual that has a section on 'modifications'. The manual urges owners to ask their dealer first, before installing. That's a more permissive stance than some other brands, for example Ferrari that absolutely forbids any modifications of the ECU or warranty voided.

A couple comments:

1) Stasis does offer warranty on the products they provide on Audis although I'm not sure if they're up and running with respect to the TTRS.

2) Do a search on "TD1". Although the TT is "old school" and apparently unaffected by this warranty issue, the B8 S4 is and its worth knowing what's going on out there.

For the record, I have a flash on mine as well as other aftermarket bits and have not had any issues with my dealer (I'm getting a failing shock replaced under warranty shortly).

Happy modding !

I spoke to Pfaff about having my car flashed and was told that there is a new directive form Audi that such would void the warranty and that Audi corporate has told their dealers to stand firm on this...I do not know whether this is 100% accurate or not but I am not taking the chance as Pfaff does a lot of mods and is known for supporting the work that they do but -- in this case -- not!

Hey Joel, based on the MkII TT being one of the cars that is not detectable for flashes, what about going to say, H2Sport for an APR flash to avoid Pfaff knowing that anything was done ? Just saying' ... ;)
