Now car is booked in with audi but what I'm wondering is

1. Will they pick up the map if I leave it on there

2. If I get the map removed, will it clear the fault codes?

Cheers!
1. Yes.

2. No. And your local Audi dealer will still likely be able to detect that you had a remap done.

So what would you recommend. Just leave the map on there? After all, the map hasn't caused the misfiring, it's just revealed a potentially incorrect part surely?

Would they still cover under warranty do u think?

It's case by case. If your local dealer finds that the wrong exhaust valve springs were installed and to blame for the misfires then it shouldn't be an issue.

It's up to you whether or not you want to leave the remap installed. Considering your Audi dealer will end up knowing either way, I would likely leave it and inform your dealer that the remap has been done. Typically the more you are upfront with your dealer, the more they will work with you.

Could maybe explain why I have been less than impressed with my remap?

Could be. The remap alone is good, but it's even better with a better downpipe.

I've had her in a couple of times and really outside of the MIL coming on and a slight hesitation in the engine, there's no noticeable effect on performance. The dealer has determined that the valve springs need to be replaced, last time she was in they discovered they had the wrong colour banding? or something. the aprts ar ein, and she's getting fixed now, which is cool, but thought I'd just post that tidbit of info should anyone else have a similar problem, or found a different solution.

Have a nice day all,
Trevor.

PS... make sure the dealer knows they need a special tool to replace them.
The chances of a VAG factory making such an install error is highly unlikely - have you seen how those places are run?! This would likely also mean that there is a whole run of TT-S's that have these incorrect springs; which, would mean that there is a Technical Bulletin about it.
