Question on ATC engine. vag com block 112
I'm running vagcom on my Audi 2000 tt 1.8 q stock it has an ATC engine.
I read the TT tweakers.pdf and it talks about Block 112 the EGT Sensor.
Where the EGT only reads between 900'c and 999'c And if you are getting readings at the high end or higher....beware.... problem
When I start my car even cold I get bouncing readings of 950 to 1050.
So I was concerned, thinking I must have a defective EGT or wiring issue.
Looked for it, and couldn't find it. Well after lots of research and using the bently manual. I found a small notation in the wiring diagram that said the ATC doesn't have a EGT sensor. Great so I think.
But if the car has no EGT sensor then why do i get readings on block 112? And if the ECU is seeing readings on block 112 in those extreme high temps wouldn't the ECU then think the car is running way to hot and make the car run rich... i.e. fuel dump?
I'm very sure I have a problem with my pre-cat sensor... ordering a new one. Not sure if the is playing a role in these numbers. And with a bad pre cat oxy I can't trust any readings I get for A/F mixtures.
So I mostly I'm just trying to talk theory about block 112 on an ATC engine / ECU with no EGT. What kind of reading should I get? Is this normal?
