OEM 17" 5 spoke rims
Anyone know where I can find 4 of the above for my 2004 TT coupe 225 ? I object to paying the dealership the 800$ per they asked for. I'm downgrading from 18" on account of the horrendous Montreal roads, potholes big enough to fit a bus everywhere. If anyone has a good alternative, I'm all ears like the donkey said

Sport Edition makes a 5 spoke wheel for the TT. These are engineered in Germany and made in China, they are not expensive, but I have had them for several years now and they show no corrosion.

I took a look at them and, turns out, they make a set that looks eerily like the Momos I have for my winter tires. Difference being, they're 1/4 the price of the Momos. I would prefer to stick to OEM for the summer wheels given the choice but I like your suggestion. Thank you. Next will be the choice of rubber. I'm not wholly satisfied with the Michelin Pilots on the 18 inchers. Maybe Pirelli this time. Bad experience with Continentals with premature wear and lots of noise.

The roads are much better in Ottawa. I've been working in Ottawa from monday AM to friday PM and back home to Mtl since january. Trust me the roads don't even begin to compare. East Motors on Montreal street in Ottawa just fixed my suspension for 1300$ after a Montreal pothole destroyed it.
So the next question is, are your 17 inchers available and if so, what would be a satisfactory number to obtain them ? My summer 18 inchers now wear Pirelli P-Zero Nero. Made up my mind after all

Mine are the factory 18 inchers.

But I wasn't thinking of parting with them at all. I wanted to add a set of wheels.
I wouldn't recommend 18" for winter. At all. You might want to consider 16 inchers. If you look inside the gas cap lid, you'll find the TT was engineered to also wear 205-55-16 tires. I've had my canary yellow TT for 7 + years now and I tried everything for winter, 16 is really what's been the best option for me. By far. Especially if, like me, you go to areas where the snow is deep and the ice abounds. More sidewall, more effective traction, softer ride. So in 2005 I bought 4 Momo 16" wheels and have shod them with a variety of winters, the latests being Bridgestone Blizzaks, which are terrific. They replaced Gislaved Nordfrost 5s which were also very good but 2 were destroyed by the monster Montreal pothole.

Agreed on the 16" for winter. Aside from the higher sidewall which gives better flex, the narrower tread provides more pressure per sq inch and better winter traction. I run 205 55 16 Dunlop Winter Sports for the snowy trips to Whistler, they have been great. Summer tires are 225 45 17 Michelin Pilot Sports great also.
By the way I will be selling my 16' wheels without tires if anyone is interested. No dents, dings or even any curb rash. There is minor surface corrosion around the hub though.
