Re: not a true 4x4
I had just about every component of the full kit professionally installed on my car. Headlamps, fog lamps, front bumper, lower hood, front and rear fenders, rocker panels, mirrors, door jams and door handle pockets. The only other option would have been to do the full hood.
Part of the front bumper had to be hand cut to accommodate the tumors on the Canadian bumper as the kit hadn't been updated for it yet. The installer loves Audi's and was being extremely particular with my car so it took between 3 and 4 hours. It was about a $1400 kit.
It's already paid for itself in saving the paint and headlamps on a couple of trips to Saskatoon.

You never know. A lot of TT's get debadged. Both Mk1's (hint hint: Jazz) and Mk2's look way cleaner without all the silly little badges.
And I knew you were making a joke. That's why I commented on parking in the trees. I had better be careful though, it sounds like those Eastern Audiforum.ca members like to go offroading!

Re: not a true 4x4
Personally I really like the badgeless look, especially on the TT. It really gives a good clean look. I would leave the rings personally, but who knows once you have the other badges off. The rings also look really good "blacked out" on backs lighter coloured TT's. If you are good and careful the badges can be reapplied later if you don't like the badgeless look.
The badges are just stuck on with a double sided adhesive. I used waxed floss and a bit of heat from a heat gun to get them off. You work the floss from the side of the badge and get behind them, slowly "sawing" it off. There will likely be some of the sticky backing from the badges left on the paint. A good body shop surface cleaner or even Goo Gone will get rid of it. Again a bit of heat can help.
The floss won't damage your paint. Just trying to pull the badges off will likely cause them to break and may leave little dints or dimples in the paint or body.
You should definitely wax the area after, especially after using a surface cleaner. With your colour you shouldn't really see any paint fading, but a few good waxes will make that disappear too.

Well it sounds like someone is officially debadged! How do you like the look?
I forgot about the grill badge, but you likely found that it is just clipped on to the grill. Comes off by gently prying the clip apart and back through the grill will a flathead screwdriver.
Can't wait to see a few pics!
Which Canadian Tire "buffer" do you have?
