Default My new TT & intro

Hi all
I have lurked these pages for a few years as my wife has always driven Audis. LAst week I finally got myself a 2000 TT with 160 klms. Timing service has been done.
There are of coiurse a few issues with the car.
1. Power steering leak- new pump & rack - old lines. Seems the whole subframe has to come apart to replace?
2. Brake brake light stays on- thus the quattro disengages.............how hard is dismatling the hand brake handle & cover to find the switch?
3. pissing antifreeze....cople of hoses seem brittle & I have read about a fitting at the rear of the engine failing? Passenger side.
4. Power mirror switch is broken. Aparently common? Can I order a Passatt switch? Is it the same? Will it iluminate?
5. Passenger door micro switch appears not to work. I see several tutorials online but none mention an actual part # from Radio Shack, (etc) for a replacement?

Overall I am still charmed with the car.
I apologize if I am asking newbie questions that are contained in a FAQ somewhere.

Appreciate the help.

Hi Folks
Happy 2013, so over 250 views yet no replies as to why my hand brake light is on, or why my quattro is not working? Too bad. THe TT is put up for the winter now, I am trying to remove the passenger door latch as the micro switch is not working. I have tried a T40 torx socket to remove the outter bolts on the door, seems it's to small, a T45 is to big? Te Bently makes reference to a 12 sideed bit? Any ideas as to what size? or what they speak of?
Planning a haldex upgrade in the sprig. Anyone done this?
Thanks

Hello Welcome to the audi seen.
I will try my best to help you out as best I can. I have a 08 TT but I have also had a 04 A4 which has got alot in common with the MK1.
The tork your looking for is a audi/VW tork. You can get them at Partsource/CT.
I'm not sure as to why your quattro is turning off on you. I'm part of a TT site based out of Europe but it is a great site for us people with TT.
I have found this forum. Take a look and see if this is your problem it really sounds like you are having the same problems.

good luck

Thanks Rob,
That is one forum I haven't managed to find. Lots of simple suggestions there. Hopefully one of them shall be the source. Much appreciate the input. Hopefully by the time I drag the car out in April I will have all the answers for everyone.
Happy Motoring
