2000 TT Quattro: trunk / hatch strut replacement
i searched the board for this, i really did.
so mine is an early 2000 (delivered 09/99). the struts it has on are: 8N8 827 552 A, which i find to be the part number for the TT without a spoiler. mine has a spoiler, so i suppose mine was early enough to be born without a spoiler, then was re-called to add the spoiler. i also think this because the spoiler's part number is oddly visible on it's underside.
so, i need to replace the trunk / hatch struts - do i replace with the part number that is on there, or order struts that are for a spoiler equipped car. i'm ordering on ebay and don't want to take chances on getting the wrong ones.
i'm just kind of guessing that the struts for one born with a spoiler is: 8N8 827 552 B, since that is something i see available.
any advice?

I think that you have answered your own question there...
The car worked fine for the past 14 years with a spoiler but the non-spoiler struts. You should be fine to get the same.
Having said that, I believe that you will find that the spoiler and non-spoiler part numbers have been superceeded such that there is only one part actually available now for a reasonable cost.
