Default Eagle Wheels & Winter Tires

In researching winter tires I came to the conclusion that narrower is better (more pressure per sq cm), so I went with 205/55/16 for winter and 225/45/17 in summer. Dunlop Winter Sports were # 1 so I went with them. I also decided on a set of Eagle MSR 068 (Eagle Wheels) after market wheels for a relative bargain of about $150 each. The whole set up was about $1200. Now all I need is a 20cm day at Whistler.

Im running 205-55-16 now that my TT is in winter mode, it goes through the snow great, during my research I heard the same thing for a recommended winter tire size. I found and bought some 16 inch beetle rims with winters, so now Im all set. I think ANY winter tire is 100 % better then a summer or all season tire. I run 225-40-18 in the summer, and now the only bummer is the look, the width looks lame in my opinion, but it works good! My TT hooks up crazy good right now in the snow and sloppy conditions, as I basically live in a snow belt area.

As you obviously agree, the benefits of the narrower tire far out-way the appearance issues. But when you look at these, they look pretty good. And for driving I actually prefer them to the P6 225's that came with the car (which will never see pavement again, but that's a different post).
Cheers

Have you run the 225's in the snow yet? Micheline Alpines are great tires.

That's a great looking winter combo. Nice pics on the beach - is that English Bay? I love that beach.

Thanks. Cost was a factor so they are not high end wheels, but they are made in the USA, not China.

The photos were taken on Lacarno Beach looking North out onto English Bay. The first one shows a bit of Stanley Park behind the guy with dogs, with North and West Vancouver in the background. I should take them again on a sunny day with the snow covered mountains in the background
Cheers
