The OE spring was not really considered weak, it was the rubber diaphram tearing and not seating properly that causes OEM DV related boost problems. Increasing spring pressure can slow the valve opening time and if spring is too strong, it can prevent the valve from opening fully.
My two OEM 710A valves on a 2.7T were both failed by 47K KMs with torn diaphrams. Dealer warranty replacement 710B valves were no better. Recommend trying the newer TT's 710N valve or aftermarket.
