Default Extended Warranty yes/no?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I am picking up my 2005 Audi TT, 225 Roadster tomorrow! I am undecided on if I should get the extended warranty. I have never owned an Audi before. I have been told that if I have any electrical issues, it could be a very expensive repair bill and it would be a good idea to have the extended warranty. Your opinion on this is greatly appreciated!

Are you buying from a dealer? If so, it should be a CPO vehicle sale (Certifed pre-owned). This gives you two years of coverage which covers most things including electrical items so this would be enough.
If not, what's the cost of the warranty?

I bought the car through an auto broker. The car came from the US and was transported here. They are also a dealership. When we got there we were offered a couple of different options for warranties. It was not CPO, we were told because it had more than 100,000 K. It appears to be in beautiful shape. There were 3 different types of warranty, the one we would have chosen covered the high tech, like electrical etc. It had roadside etc. It started at $2400. per 60,000 k/3yrs that was after a reduction of a $300 promotion. He talked to manager and got it down to $2100. My Husband decided to decline this warranty.

Somebody ALWAYS makes money on the extended warranty, and it's not you. I am convinced that if you take proper care of the car and have it serviced regularly the extended warranty is not worth it.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the input! That is exactly my husbands thoughts. I still can't believe that a car can be this much fun to drive! It makes my commute so much more enjoyable. The only thing we have had to do was change the hazard relay. The signal switch went 3 days after we bought the car. Not a problem though, there was excellent instruction on how to do it on You Tube. Fixed in less than 10 mins!
