Can you tow a small trailer with a TT?
 

Hello all,

I have a 2006 3.2l Quattro TT. I am wondering if it is possible, even advisable to tow with the car? I was thinking of one of these:

What are you thinking? Towing a trailer with a TT! I'm sure it can be done but how could you do that to a great sports car. Get a VW Golf, add roof racks and get a Thule box, install a trailer hitch and you have the perfect car to tow a trailer and pack all the camping gear. I actually tow a similiar rig called a leisure Lite with my golf as it only weighs 250 lbs. Check them out but please don't humiliate your TT by installing a trailer hitch on it! Happy trails.

Well, it would only be used a few times a year when going camping at times when it would be inclement to ride the motorcycle.

you can mount 1 1/4 receiver hitch on TT, I have one on my 2003 coupe for bike rack. It is my daily commuter - I drive to edge of town and ride bike from there. If I take bike rack off, you barely notice the hitch. Only found one brand of hitch, and I would imagine is same for 3.2 - mine is 225 with dual so exhaust would be pretty much same. you could check specs on internet for towing and tongue weight it is rated for.

Oh, yeah, and track days too. I never thought of that, as I am thinking of putting together a used GSXR 600 as a track bike.

I think that TT manual states pretty clear: you can not fit a trailer.

only one brand that I could find for TT by Curt product no 11765 http://www.trailerhitchescanada.ca/h...hitch-433.html

paid about 300 for hitch and took hour or two to install. little cramped drilling holes for left mount on subframe.

Towing a trailer with a small displacement turbo motor is NOT recommended. In addition, if the vehicle has a manual transmission clutch issue WILL arise. Be wary of expensive damage to the trany and engine.

well i guess you can but why stress it out like that, trying getting a rental or something
