Alan,
I've never tried any place in our area. I work in TO, and Independent is close to the office for me.

I don't see many TT's in our area!

Thanks Mike,
I contacted Orillia Volkswagen this morning, they do some service on the Audi - not everything. Their rate for an oil change is quite reasonable $82.46 I believe they said.

A quick lube was $121 - bandits!

If I scout anything out, I will post, plus I will watch for your red TT on the 400.

Hi Alan,

My wife services her Jetta in Orillia for the most part becasue she works in Orillia. Frankly Orillia are not much better then Barrie in our experiences, we've used both numerous times. I service my TT occationally in Barrie but have not used Orillia for it. We've basically come to the conclusion that we go to the Toronto VW/Audi Tuning shops to get any big major service work done. Several do excellent work at a fair and resonable price. I just find the dealerships don't even know their own vehicles all that well any more, and you pay dearly for them guessing while troubleshooting any problems.

We feel the same about the Orillia dealer, I called them this morning about a timing belt replacement as my TT is at the mileage that I should be getting it done. They can't perform this on an Audi, and I really don't want to take my car to the Barrie dealer at all.

I am frequently in the Vaughan Mills area, do you have any recommendations for this area?

thanks,
Alan

When I was working in the Vaughan area, I took my Eagle Talon TSi AWD to International Auto (IAC :: International Automotive Customs (----) near Weston and Langstaff). They are a bit pricey, but better than dealers, and they are good with performance cars. When I was buying my 3.2 TT, I had them do a mechanical check on it, and at the time, they had a 225Q that were gutting and turning into a higher performance machine.

Hi Alan,

I've had my TT's timing belt and a full brake job done at Precision Tuning Motorsports, the address is:
8600 Keele Street unit 46/47
Concord, Ontario
Keele/Langstaff

The guy's name is Perjad, he's a very good mechanic who cares about his work. My whole extended family uses him as we all have VW's / Audi's and no problems with his work yet.

Thank you for your input, I found PTM today to see the place and book my timing belt. Unfortunately Perjad couldn't commit to do it within a single day insisting I would need to leave the car overnight. The logistics of getting home and back down was a problem for me.

I headed over to Independent Tuning, they can't get to it for 2 weeks, and a longer drive from the Vaughan area, but a single day to get the job done. I was impressed with their work area, and better lighting than Precision. I booked it there.

I am also looking at replacing the transmission fluid and filter, its hard to believe the cost of fluid is over $20 per litre (7 required).

thanks,
AR

$20 is expensive. I've been using the redline MT (or MTL I forget offhand) and it's great and a lot better priced.

I'm also on the hunt for a GTA mechanic, just moved around the Bathurst/Lake Shore area and need to find someone

Independent Tuning at 110 Crockford Blvd. is reasonable close at the Lawrence and Warden area. They are backed up a little and one man short. Mark is the owner, I didn't catch the name of the mechanic.
