3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap

I was looking to spruce up the back end of my TT and decided to try the 3M Carbon Fiber wrap after seeing it used on another TT forum. The stuff is really neat, as it has an actual texture to it. You can't tell it's not actually real Carbon Fiber unless you look at the back of the panel. You just need a heat gun to help form it around the shapes, and the glue really bonds it on with heat.
I'm quite happy with the look, not ricey in my opinion.

You can by sheets of the stuff in sizes big enough to do roofs or hoods no problem, and lots of people have. I'm not going down that road though!

cheers

Looks pretty good, just enough to make it look classy and not in your face.

Thanks, that's was what I was going for. I really fear making it look ricey.

Just watch it for a while. Not sure how hot the pipes get or what the temp. rating on the stuff is :p

Hopefully it won't melt on you.

I think it should be fine, I don't notice the panel getting much of any heat from the exhausts.

By the way, ECS tuning now carry a large selection of this wrap. Look at the following link:

Haha, I'm sure the trap speed on that toilet has gone up at least 5MPH...

I've seen a few good applications of this stuff, mostly cleaning up trim, or interior bits; but, I do foresee this stuff being plastered everywhere once it gets more mainstream. That said, it's perfect for getting rid of nasty fake wood, or cheesy plastics in shoddily-interior'ed cars.
