Meet ideas?

Got any good ones?

I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd start this one to gather meet ideas. I'll subscribe to this thread and continually update the OP as suggestions roll in.

1. dragstrip day in the spring. I reckon Cayuga will open around late March/early April. The cold weather test and tune days were dead in the fall. Hopefully they're equally quiet in the spring and we can tear it up unfettered by hordes of ricers :D

2. rolling shot photoshoot meet here in the winter would be cool. Takes 3 people to make 1 rolling shot photo (2 drivers, 1 photographer) so a meet would be the perfect way to do it. There are enough of us with dSLR cameras that we could make that work.

3. vagcom meet in the spring - always popular, and a few guys with TPMS could get that re-activated if they de-activated it for their winter setup

4. spring drive - I loved that rip we went on through the halton hills. Let's do that again. There's a google map for a 'Hamilton Nurburgring' which is a nice long drive mapped out by the Scooby club. We could have a look at that. Maybe find a great spot to take some drive by photos/video while we're at it.

5. 4.2 exhaust meet - there are a bunch of guys with B6/7 S4s/RS4s and it's nice to get a group together. One thing many guys want to hear is what aftermarket exhaust solutions sound like, so we could get a bunch of cars together and all check out the different sounds in a controlled environment, vs. random youtube videos with different microphones etc. We could even get a decibel meter app for an iphone user to measure...make one HD video of all setups. This would then be a great resource for the forum to have this video on here so guys could just be referred to it stickied somewhere when the inevitable 'which exhaust should I get' question comes up

Re: Meet ideas?

Hamilton 'ring according to another club.....

Nürburgring Hamilton - Google Maps

This surrounds my 'hood (I live in the 'infield') and It's great route. However, it's heavily populated/busy in many areas so don't expect any excess speeds. Still worth the enjoyable drive.

Also, not really a ring ....although I guess you could use the 403 as a "high-speed" section that brings it all together :)

Those meet suggestions are all doable. I even have a dB meter.

Haha, only an Engineer! Are you going to graph the data and do some regression analysis afterward? :D

Just buggin'...I have meters to measure just about everything, too ;)

I'm up for all of the above. The Tuesday evening meets in Burlington are tough for me. Weekend meets are best and these seem like they are all weekend type activities.

Re: Meet ideas?

1. How about those "free" synthetic oil changes at one of the GTA tuning /accessory shops/garages?

2. The ice driving "school" that was just cancelled would be great to schedule for next year as well.

3. How about a specialty problem solving day with a local specialty expert from various sources. As an example, people with stereo/nav/bluetooth or similar type concerns/problems can meet with a stereo/nav expert at a GTA shop that specializes in such things and they could solve problems at a discount as many customers would show up. Questions and trouble shooting should be free [as well as hot dogs/burgers :) ] Next similar type session might be wheel/tire concerns/problems - at a GTA expert tire shop; where free balancing could be offered and free rotation as well as discounts on sales.

LOL.... The regression analysis will be against barometric pressure and elevation from sea level.

If you have 35 psi in your tires at sea level are your tires harder or softer when taken to the top of Mt. Everest?
