Winter tire recommendation for all Audi models

Just posting that if you have a chance to buy winters now or in future - go with Nokian Hakkapelitta. Hands down the best...quiet, handle speed and anything winter can throw at you. Dry pavement is smooth and quiet. Running on a dedicated winter rim set for my A5 Quattro SLine. Don't even look at anything else!

I went with Gislaved Nordfrost 5's and they are amazing in snow and ice. Dry pavement here in Toronto is surprisingly very quite ride. They are competitively priced, I'd say mid range but you get the quality of a premium tire.

The Swedes use these tires standard on their Volvo's. And Continental is the parent company so they are made really well. Just my two cents.

Everyone has their personal favorites, but I would recommend the Bridgestone Blizzaks. I had the WS70's on my Subaru Legacy which are the more winter/winter tire instead of performance winter. I can't say enough good things about those tires. They wern't great in dry conditions, but anytime there was snow on the ground they were incredible.

I ended up going with the performance winters (LM60's) this time around and really like them too. They don't have quite the same grip when there is a foot of snow on the ground, but the quattro system makes up for it. They are great on ice, and feel like all season tires when it's dry. If they last four winters like my last set I can't see myself ever buying a different brand of winter tire.

I'm with you I've run them on my past three s4's (B7 and two B8's). They're incredible on both snow packed, and ice roads. They are very quiet on dry pavement and look really good on the car!

OK- In winter how much of your driving is actually in the snow? Probably less that 40%. So you need a winter tire that is also good in the dry and wet, and can still go fast, handle well and be somewhat quiet. Therefore look for V rated winter tire. like the Dunlop Wintersport
