So here's a little story. I drive an '04 accent I got to take with me to college. I graduated, working full-time, and now want something a little nicer. Been eyeing new cars for a while, but got to thinking that I could save some cash, go used, and get a nicer car than I could new.

And so after looking at the VWs, my eyes started to wander across the lot to the Audis.


Couple questions:
-Are ceritifed-Audis worth the extra mark-up? The reason I ask is my uncle works at a dealership, and there's an A4 there waiting for me to hop in:

I can get a good deal on it, but I've read a lot about this gunk buildup and other stories of high maintenance and repairs.

-When I'm looking at used A4s (2005-2007s), anything to look out for specifically?

Any other ideas on what I could take a look at would be appreciated. Budget is 19-23k.
