Tire sizes

Hello guys I just bought a 2006 Audi A6 Quattro yesterday, and It looks like stock tires are 245/45/17 I have a set of winter tires that are 235/45/17 will these be ok to run on the factory wheels Or will I have issues? Thanks

You will be fine. Better actually. The new rubber is slightly narrower across the tread. Go to one of the popular tire websites and use their tire size comparer to see the differences.

You certainly can increase your rim size. Do some online research on some of the tire and wheel sites. If your purchasing from a wheel shop and they told you that they fit your car, your good to go. If your buying off Kijji or something like that, make sure that the offset and backspacing are Ok for your car. Congrats on the A6 BTW...

An A6 with LOW km is always a great deal. You bought a very nice car. You are lucky to have some time to get your winter rubber. I bought last January from the Audi dealer here in Edmonton, They quoted me 4 grand for winter Audi wheels and tires. We negotiated an amount much less but still paid north of 3g's. You should be ok with most Audi wheels from that era for fitment. There seems to be a good selection on Kijji this time of year also. You can also search VW, they have the same 5x112 bolt pattern. And......... if you have any cash left over after buying the car, you could always go into your local tire shop and have them fit you up with a brand new set of wheels and tires!!!!! Let me know how it goes...
