Smoked Tails
Hi all, I was hoping you could all clarify something for me. Does anyone in Ontario use these tail lights:
www. lltek.com/images/Lighting/A4_IN_FcLft_B5_smoked_tails_Z.jpg ... and are they legal in Ontario? Sorry about the link, couldn't post links with < 5 post count... I joined this forum specifically to ask this question because I'm considering buying a B5 S4 soon. Thanks in advance! |
Re: Smoked Tails
as long as the brake and running lights are red and the turn signals are orange, they're legal.

I know from the thread in General Automotive that: It is illegal to cover your Headlights with any tinted or coloured material or to reduce the effective area of the beam of your headlights. HTA 62(7) - Drive with headlamp coated / Drive with headlamp covered / Drive with headlamp modified - $85.00/$110.00 Thats a hefty enough fine however i'm not sure of anything regarding the tails. I'll try digging around to see if i can find anything specific for Ontario. I know some US states specifically prohibit use and others do not. |
Re: Smoked Tails
in the states aftermarket taillights have to be marked with DOT approval in order for them to be legally installed into vehicles, if they are not DOT approved, then they are deemed off road use only... not sure about cdn laws...
