Finally found Sea Foam
I finally found sea foam today while getting an E-test. They carry the oil/ fuel treatment, Trans treatment, and Deep creep.

Re: Finally found Sea Foam
does sea foam work with a high mileage 04+ car?

Re: Finally found Sea Foam
Yesterday I did my '95 corolla, and my wife's '99 passat 2.8. Could have sworn we were experiencing a lunar eclipse. Passat has 243K, runs and shifts smoother than a new Camry.

Re: Finally found Sea Foam
what exactly is the purpose of sea foaming? Is it like a hardcore engine flush?
|
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
It removes carbon deposits and gunk.
By the way you can get it at Napa. I got mine at the Napa in thornhill. On sale now. 8.99 |
Re: Finally found Sea Foam

|
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
yeah, really... gotta try it out myself
|
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
It turns out my local napa store had it for years... along with canisters of fuel injector cleaner you hook up to the fuel rail - anyone know where to get an injector cleaning kit?

Re: Finally found Sea Foam
try pepboys for the $100 solution, else use a plastic jar (think mayo) with a straw feeding the vaccum line
if you haven't seafoamed yet, you will be surprised at what you have been missing |
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
what are the disadvantages of sea foaming? Are there risks involved?
|
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
Personally, I've only heard great things about Sea Foam. Only downside is the smoke you produce during use. Make sure you use it at night or out in a back road. No one needs a firetruck or your friendly neighbourhood police pulling up to the front of their house.
Which specific Sea Foam product are you looking into? |
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
I don't really know what brand to use. I just thought it would be a good idea to do considering the car is an 2001 and I'm trying to fix it up a bit. It still runs super good but figured I would give it a shot. What brand would you suggest?
|
Re: Finally found Sea Foam
Well Sea Foam is a good brand but there are different products within the Sea Foam brand. (ie. Motor Treatment, Deep Creep, etc.)
Check the Sea Foam website for more info on how to use their products and which one will be best-suited for you. Sea Foam | Home Good Luck! |
