Just tell him that John (from Manulife) with Black Jetta referred you to him

That's great, it's like 10 min from my house. Perfect....

Freewilly,

Do you happen to keep your invoice?
What is the ATF brand and quantity you've got in your 5HP19FLA?

Never mind!
(I assumed you are with an Audi, you have no 5HP19FLA)

The ATF is from Audi, I made sure that they use stock.
The invoice says 5 litres.

I have recently been told by the dealership garage that they do not recommend transmission flush for an old and high mileage Audi (96 A6, automatic, 160,000 km) unless it's absolutely necessary (but he did not elaborate on that), could that be true???
Basically I'm getting some noise and a small leak from the transmissio, but they say they don't rebuild transmission so they will have to replace the whole transmission and you can imagine how expensive that would be!
Does anybody know any reliable independent Audi mechanic/technician in the lower mainland area in B.C. ???

From everyone I've talked to, it's best to change you trany fluid every 50K km. When they say lifetime, they mean lifetime of the warranty period.
I would definately get your problem looked at as soon as possible. Trany problem don't get better, they just get worst. Looks like a small problem now, maybe a gasket leak.
