A6 S line TDI
Recently moved back from Europe, have a 2007 A6 TDI S line, is it possible to bring it into Canada from Germany? Audi dealer claims it is not possible to import it for two reasons.
1. Parts and service are not yet available for diesel engines.
2. Quality of diesel fuel: Required to use Premium Diesel only but not available in Canada.
Any comments ......

Re: A6 S line TDI
dealer probably is telling the truth, although Mercedes and BMW are about to bring in premium diesel engines (Bluetec etc.)...I can't imagine that they would do this without the proper infrastructure in place
parts and service are a definite concern...even filters...simple stuff.
that being said...what a cool car! MAN I wish they'd launch the diesels over here already.
Cheers, and good luck.

Thanks for your comments, I will look further into the fuel issue because I really wan to bring this car over. You wouldn't believe the millage achieved by the diesel version, I do over 900Km with a full tank (of course while driving under normal conditions).

Is it legal to import? you might want to check Registrar of Imported Vehicles RIV: How to import a U.S made vehicle into Canada

Re: A6 S line TDI
Just gave this some further thought...couldn't you just sell the car over in Europe? I reckon it will be worth so much, compared to in North America, that you'll be able to buy an equivalent year A6 3.2L petrol car here, and have enough cash leftover to pay for gas for a few years.
Actually you could even buy one in the USA, and import it. They're a real bargain there. 2007 A6s are shockingly cheap there....mid to low 30s is pretty normal. After import fees and PST/GST, it'll cost about $44,000 CDN all in.

Re: A6 S line TDI
It would be more along the lines of bringing in a JDM car than bringing in a US car. If it was never intended for sale in Canada, then it must be at least 15 years old, or else it's automatically inadmissable.
Just sell it and buy one here.
