Re: Audi Driving Experience?
I am going to the one in Vancouver on Nov 11.
I have taken the Collision Avoidance courses (both the introductory and Advanced) to get a discount on my insurance (Cdn Direct) and it sounds very similar. I'll post my thoughts next week. Cheers |
Re: Audi Driving Experience?
I thought it was disappointing. We drove the new S4 and the new A6. Terrific cars both of them. We did three runs at 4 different maneuvers: skid pad over-steer, skid pad under-steer, slalom, and ABS braking. Each run was maybe 30 seconds, so we had total driving time of less than 6 minutes!
And while I did learn something about emergency maneuvering (remembering that I had already taken three collision avoidance courses) I never felt like I got to know the cars. We hopped into the car and immediately started the runs. There was no familiarization drive to see how the cars drive under normal conditions and there was no chance to see how the new transmissions worked etc. We never got beyond second gear. The hot ride with a pro-driver in the R-8 was cool, but again it was all of 45 seconds long. They go to an awful lot of effort to bring this road show to us, and more driving would be very welcome. |
Re: Audi Driving Experience?
Sounds bush league. Glad I didn't waste my cash.

Re: Audi Driving Experience?
To be fair, it was a blast driving the new A6 and S4 sideways in the rain, even if only for a few seconds!
