Atlantic Canada

I am new to this forum today but have been on TDIClub.com for years.

I have VAG-Com cable and am willing to use it for anyone's car, in my yard. The last time I loaned it, the guy sold it! Another story.

I am trying to sell my 2005 Passat and move into an A4 or S4 Convertible. Looking in BC but quattro is hard to find out there.

I am looking for info on engines and their reliability and fuel consumption for 2002 to 2004 cars.

Greetings from Halifax.

My car is just off warranty. Any recommendations for good, cheaper than dealer service close to here?

Hi from Halifax!
I just moved here from Ottawa with a 2002 allroad.
I have VCDS here as well if somebody needs to read codes.
Looking at a shop who would know the 2.7T and works on these fine older cars!
Cheers
David

Re: Atlantic Canada

Hello everyone,

While driving from Toronto Ontario Canada, through Quebec, Bew Brunswick and Nova Scotia to my military base in Halifax I had to travel through some horrific weather -30 to -40 below freezing degree weather and challenging road conditions.
Long story short, my conclusion is that the CTS Turbo Africa plate and the Racingline catch can both froze causing excessive pressure build up in the motor, which caused a plastic gromit on the valve cover to "pop" out which caused an excessive amount of oil to be sprayed everywhere. I put the gromit back and topped the oil up and cautiously drove to Halifax NS.

So far the car has been running well, and the oil level has stayed the same. The oil temperature is fine and there aren't any leaks that I have noticed since the initial discovery.
More news to follow, but here is the video link.
