Anyone know a cheap and reliable Mechanic that would be able to do a Turbo Replacement on a 2000 S4.

Offers from anyone? Who wants some cash

Ya they did all the work on my A4's.

Actually the Silver A4 that Tapp is working on now and has a BT in is my old car.

Tapp is actually very afordable comparitively speaking. Aside from the labour rate being competitive, they are efficient with their time and in my experience (lots of hours of work done to 3 Audis and a Mazdaspeed Miata), they have never been surprises and have done work for less than expected on more than one occasion.

2011 S4, just picked her up this Friday. Love it, but can't wait to get through the engine break-in period!

Hey! Congrats on the new buy.

Is it just me or for the engine period you're suppose to drive the car pretty hard right? That's what I've been told, is that the regime you've been following?

Thanks!

Nah, it's not supposed to be driven hard. I've been taking it fairly easy, leaving the DSG in auto mode (shifts at about 2000 rpm). After 1000 kms the manual says you can then go to about 2/3 of redline, then after 1500 kms it's full out!

Congrats - where are your pics ???
My manual is similar so when I took delivery of mine almost 2 weeks ago, I decided to take it easy for the first 1000 kms. That lasted almost 20 minutes
I always make sure the engine warms up and the turbo is allowed a few minutes of cool down before turning it off.
Cheers !

All car manuals say to take it easy but contrary to that belief some car experts told me its good to take it hard the first 35km because that allows the pistons to "break in" properly and have a full range of motion...(something along those lines).

I'll see if I can find some relevant articles.
