S8 or A8L W12

I was wondering what big diffrence is between the S8 and the A8L W12, and if one car is better then the other. Also what is the diffrence between a normal A8 and an S8 besides the engine. And finally, is it worth buying an S8 or A8L W12 over just a normal A8.

I think the A8L is larger than the S8. I believe the L denoted a longer wheelbase. I think the S8 has a nicer interior and a more peppy engine eventhough it's a V10.

a recent article in Eurotuner mag the A8 with the W12 outperformed the S8. If I had the money it would be the A8 W12 because of the performance rating and that great engine.

Hi, I would say in my humble opinion that it all depends on the reasons you're buying the car. The curb appeal is there already with any of them but you're choosing between two different cars: the long wheel base addresses the executive leg room in the back seats while the S it's in a class by itself as Audi designed it as a sport car (a limousine but sport nevertheless). I agree that W12 is an excellent engine but rare and I believe that when it comes to servicing an Audi (VW) dealer may be the only place where one can go. Furthermore, a longer wheel base means a boat-ish ride while the S is tight and rigid. Even if the W12 has more power one may not feel the car as sportier as the S. I'm an S8 fan and owner and can tell you that I'll never go for an A when an S is the other choice. Best regadrs.
