New to Audi

Hello,

I have been doing a lot of research and am pretty much set on buying a 2009 A3 2.0T quattro. Especially now that you can add the LED bi-xenon lights as a $900 option to the non premium version (according to the dealership last week). I am looking at making the purchase in March. I have a few questions that I would like to put out there to local audi community.
  1. I have been considering using Carcostcanada.com to try to get the best deal possible. Anyone else use this service successfully when buying their car? Also, anyone know if the Royal Oak or Glenmore is a "Pre-Screened" dealer?
  2. As part of the membership for this club it stated that discounts at the dealer as part of a wholesale buyer? What exactly is this and would that mean I could get a wholesale price for the vehicle I am interested is? And if so what type of discount does a wholesale buyer receive?
  3. Anyone used the X-Pel (invisible bra) product through Shadowtint. Is this a good product for our gavel covered roads or are there other products out there which you would recommend?
  4. I am also looking into different service manuals for Audi's. On all of my other cars I have been using Haynes. I am considering the official manual from Audi, but am afraid to ask the cost. From your experience how do the manuals from Bentley Publishers hold-up?
  5. Does anyone know if the A3 can fit a 16" Rim? I will be looking at winter tires and would prefer to drop a size for the pocket and sidewall.

I am sure I am going to have more questions at a later date, but hopefully there are members that can shed some light on the above questions.

Cheers,
Cyca

Also, anyone know if the Royal Oak or Glenmore is a "Pre-Screened" dealer? You are usually able to negotiate about 3-5g's off the cars MSRP d a search on here and you can find a thread with how much guys got off their MSRP

Could get but it would be a used vehicle it is mostly for parts...item corrected in my post
  3. Anyone used the X-Pel (invisible bra) product through Shadowtint. Is this a good product for our gavel covered roads or are there other products out there which you would recommend? I used 3M and it works great, I am not sure about the X-Pel??? Shadow tint is a good place though thats for sure
  4. I am also looking into different service manuals for Audi's. On all of my other cars I have been using Haynes. I am considering the official manual from Audi, but am afraid to ask the cost. From your experience how do the manuals from Bentley Publishers hold-up? If you stick around the forums long enough the manuals get sold at $60 vs the original $140 or whatever it is. They are great to have. You wouldnt need it if you are buying brand new for at least the first 2 years
  5. Does anyone know if the A3 can fit a 16" Rim? I will be looking at winter tires and would prefer to drop a size for the pocket and sidewall. Yes it can dealer has different options and some deals on right now

I am sure I am going to have more questions at a later date, but hopefully there are members that can shed some light on the above questions.

Cyca

Hope that helps

Re: New to Audi

Thanks for the info. I just purchased the 2009 A3 2.0T Quattro Premium, Aruba Blue with Black Leather. Hopefully I will have it in a couple of weeks. It just arrived at port and now has to make the train ride to Calgary.

I have now been toying over the dealer options for the 3M and the tinting. The prices actually seem quite reasonable, so for the added convenience I am considering having the dealer perform that. Does anybody in Calgary have experience with the installers at the Royal Oak dealership and how would it compare outside shops? And if not the dealer who do people recommend?
