Cool Re: Hey Calgarians!

I would post pics of my A4 but I was hit head-on on a side street by a '78 Ford Econo-van equiped with what looked to be racing-slicks. I stopped and even pulled my A4 off to the side when I saw this moron coming at me at 50km/h on the icy streets, but of course it was to no avail. He hit me and even pushed my vehicle into parked cars. To top it all off the guy didn't have insurance or registration. He bolted while we were waiting for the cops to show which left me with my own deductible to pay. My A4's been in the body shop since Jan 14th now and I'm getting antsy. Insurance hooked me up with a crappy new Chevy go-cart in the mean time. I don't know why anyone would buy this car on purpose...I feel gross just driving it.

It's not a huge concern that the shop is taking so long I'm more concerned that they do a good job and I'm confident that they will. I've had a BMW into them for body and paint work before and it came back better than new. To top it off, the shop owner is paying for my rental over and above all costs that insurance will cover. I just can't wait to slip back into that leather interior and crack the sunroof! That's been my Calgary winter...anybody else get hit?

No Pics. I drove it home (1 block) bleeding fluids and closed it up in my garage until I could sort out a flatbed truck and talk to a bodyshop. Basically everything right of the grill was crushed. Bumper, hood, fender, light, steering pump etc.

It's taken some time but I'm told that it should be ready this week. Maybe I'll post a few pics of the finished version.

One week later and I've been told that when they recharged my AC system it leaked everywhere. Apparently they cracked it when tightening the bolts. Have to order another AC unit and install. Now 90 days without my car.
