X2 for tunedub.

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Agreed. If you can get in.
George has been awesome over the years and I have a lot of resect for him and his business. My experience lately has been that you need to be willing and able to wait weeks to get an appointment. Not a problem for basic maintainence, but can be an issue if you run into something major. I have always found him willing to go above and beyond and he stands behind his work, so there is no surprise he is a busy as he is. I just hope he doesn't forget what got him there in the first place - great customer service and word-of-mouth through forums like this one. |

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
I've only dealt with Cosmo's Collision, was sent there by Glenmore Audi - they did good work. If you're looking for a second quote go see Ken, he knows his stuff.

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Cosmo's did a lousy job on my 2 week old A4. The paint's falling off after a few years. Past their warranty, of course. And in addition, they delivered the car to Glenmore Audi who signed for it while I was still out of the country. The insurance then wouldn't pay for my rental and I couldn't return the rental till I got back in the country. All in all it cost me $3000 for having my car struck from behind!
Cosmo's wouldn't stand up for anything.

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
I don't take my cars to the shop, but if I did, they go to either Calgary Auto Works, or Tunedub. Both will treat you fair and get the job done right

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
also, if you are in the northern area, Mike @ Mikes Auto Haus is really good as well
http://www.mikesautohaus.ca/ takes real good care of my baby, and amazing prices. but tuneddub as well |
Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Contemporary Coach Works! They charge premium rates but they do a great job

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Gigantelli Auto Services. I found these guys by accident -- I had made the (huge) mistake of getting an out-of-province inspection at the Canadian Tire down the road.

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
The customer service at Tune dub is absolutely abysmal. It's not only difficult to get in but you are made to feel like a flea by the support staff because they are so busy.
Essentially the attitude is "we are really busy and so we don't particularly care if we get you in because we have lots of customers calling". Last time I was put on hold for 10 minutes without any response. I then hung up and redialed to find out what happened. I got an answering machine so I left a friendly message to get booked in for an appointment. They never called me back. Love George but the front line staff needs a serious adjustment. I can't recommended Tunedub. I also tried German Car Specialists and didn't feel the love. Only go there if you want to pay dealership prices without going to the dealership or getting a good cappuccino. I'm still looking... I'm going to try Astra Automotive Repair next. |
Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Personally, I've never had an issue at Tunedub. But if you do want to try another I suggest Calgary Autoworks.

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
Can't recommend TuneDub enough! George is great, and they're an honest shop, always willing to make things right if something goes wrong. Yes, they are busy and often very hard to get an appointment with but that should be a good sign. I don't want to let the shop that can get me in tomorrow anywhere near my car!!

Re: Best repair shop in Calgary?
I heard about Adair Auto in Calgary on one of these message boards a few years ago, since then I have taken our Range Rover and all our Audi's to Seamus at Adair. The customer service is genuine/not fake and forced... they know their stuff and are very FAIR. They just completed service on my 09 R8 which was rare and complex, service the dealer couldnt do for weeks and wanted to charge me far more shop hours for. Thnx to whoever posted years ago about Adair as I wouldnt have known about them. Cheers
