Just bought a car - XM is working! - Should this be?

Hi,

I just bought an 06 A4 Avant with Sline, Convenience, Cold weather, Tech package with Audi Navigation. Of the choices I have for radio is XM satellite radio.

I can see all of the XM channels and all appears to be working fine. Does this mean the previous owner paid for XM and just did not cancel his/her subscription? Does one pay for XM on a yearly basis or monthly? How is the subscription handled?

Do new Audis come with a complementary subscription for a period of time?

I am trying to find out what I have and for how long I have it without calling XM or Audi os something only to find out I should not have it and lose it as a result.

Thanks

P.S. I loooooooooooooooooooooooove this car.

Previous owner, you can pay yearly or monthly but when it expires you gotta pay my friend so enjoy it now and congrats on the purchase

What you should really do is remove the satellite receiver from the back and send it to me for my car :-)

I hate not having satellite and am now looking for the receiver if you happen to know of one.
