Aux, USB or stereo input for 2006 Audi A3
Hello.
I have a 2006 Audi A3 with a 6-CD Symphony system. This older model and stereo does not have a standard or native input to accommodate an MP3 playing device, like an iPhone or iPod (in my case the latter). I have been exploring a variety of options for obtaining iPhone compatibility. One hand, I am looking at Dension-like products or even a new kit from Future Shop. On the other, I am wondering whether I could purchase a newer Audi faceplate or stereo with a stereo or URB input WITHOUT losing my CD-playing capacity. I'd appreciate any and all recommendations. Thanks. |

I have 2006 A3 with same 6-CD symphony system too. I'm the first owner and I have installed DICE electronics ipod connection at the back of the stock Symphony like an external CD changer. So it has a ipod like cable running out of glove box. There was no option to order stock ipod connection from dealers before. But that DICE box seems to have problems lately that the volume of the ipod playback is so low that I can bearly hear it only when I crank up the volume to the max!
So I have switched to a temp solution now. That is using a cheapy FM transmitter for iPod plugged into the 12V jack to listen through FM radio. Sound is not as good and I lost the wheel control of selecting songs and playlists. But it works so far until I find a way to fix the DICE box. |
