Default s4 b5 help

hey guys i'm fairly new to the audi scene and i just purchased my first s4 last week. It's a 2000 s4 with 135 000km. so far i love it and im already thinking of upgrading the power. I got the car lowered on Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, handling is amazing and a joy to drive. I also had the Revo trial softwear installed, it last for 5 hours and i was boosting about 17lbs. I had no compliants about the softwear either. I'm definetly going to purchase the full version of the program in the very near future but i would also like to upgrade my exhaust. I was thinking of going true duals with no cats. Any known issues with that setup? Am i gonna trow a ecu code on the dash if the cats get deleted? is it worth it? Any help is appreciated guys...

Do yourself a favour and look up VAST performance. They are well known experts on the B5 S4. I had the pleasure of visiting them last year and all there was in the shop were B5 S4s being done up.

You have a great car that can truly be a beast.

VAST is well known and its not uncommon for them to get 600 plus hp out of your car, a real monster.

Ask for Prince and say hello for me.

You will get a code if you delete the cats and don't have a software remap specifically for running test pipes.

at ~140k, expect to get another 30-40k km's out of the k03's if you start running a stg 1 chip full time. Mine died at 170 and the car is well maintained.

Start making a budget on what you want to spend on the car and engine upgrades and go from there. A simple k04 swap can start at around $3-4k and the sky is the limit.

Don't forget about the brakes if you're gonna be going for serious power. The stock S4 brakes are barely adequate running a full stg 3 setup in my opinion. I'm using DBA slotted rotors and PBR Ultra pads and the car can really tax the brakes when driving spiritedly.

Yes, you can put porsche brakes on your B5. ECS tuning sells various kits that use porsche calipers.

As far as going to K04 turbo's, there are various items needed that are listed in all of the big companies upgrade kits. Awe tuning, APR, AutoSpeed, Vast...look them all up, they all list what comes in the kits to upgrade to K04's.

There's also supporting hardware that's recommended but not required, such as engine and transmission mounts, intercoolers, clutch/flywheel, fuel pump etc...

Hey! I used to have a 01.5 B5 S4 that was APR tuned. I was looking into a full aftermarket system, and I was seriously thinking about going with APR. Which includes the downpipes as well, they also do a software upgrade at the same time, and supposedly adds 50hp at the wheels. There are two different sounding systems, ones more sleeper, the other is quite vocal! I believe the same system will work even if/when you upgrade your turbos.
