Default Looking at A 2006 S4....Help

Hello everyone I Happen to find a 2006 Audi S4 for fairly cheap. Passed inspection with flying colors nothing wrong with the car really, has sweating coming from the oil pan gasket but i can replace that myself, Being that im a licensed mechanic and work for dodge. Anyway My only concern is there any big problems anyone has heard with these cars. How well are the engines for long lasting? this car has 170 000 kms on it, i know its a lil on the high side but idk if these are built fairly strong or am i lookin at re-building it in the near future. Working at dodge and u have 170000 kms on a dodge diesel pfft thats nothing right lol, but an audi im not to sure considering i dont know much about the engines. Ive done lots of suspension and transmission work on some of them, just nothing with the engine and no experience with the engine. How well does the V8 do on fuel mileage?

Any tips would be wonderful, thanxs guys. I hope to get myself into this car if all works out good soon, then maybe join up for these audi meets in calgary, Im from Sylvan lake

Congrats on your purchase! Generally speaking, if an Audi has 170k on the clock, and it's all highway miles, I'd say you can still get a 100k out of her without any big problems. (don't hold it to me, I've heard of nightmares even starting at 70k) because your engine is a naturally aspired engine, I would say it lasts much longer than forced induction engines like the 1.8t or 2.7t. Diesel engines tend to last longer than gasoline engines due to their nature. (can't really mechanically explain why, but they do) gas mileage on the 4.2's are not so good but it depends on what car your coming from. If you're coming from a SRT8 you will see a little improvement of gas mileage. It all depends on what you're used to. Good luck with your car and I hope to see some nice pics!
