Losing my boost!
 
So my new S4 is giving me some issues. Basically, the first run little get go I give to merge or whatever the case may be, usually in second/third gear, i'll have my boost up untill 4-5 rpm and then I can feel a dramatic decrease in power/boost untill I turn off my car for a few hours and come back to it. But even then the same thing happens. I always give my S4 a few minutes of idling before I drive it and turn it off. I'm 17 years old and it's my first car, and believe me... it's my baby.

I'm just running a re-mapped chip and everything else is stock. Always pump 91 or better. This has brought me so much frustration because I don't have money for new turbos.

Build yourself a boost leak tester......Cost about $4.00 to make......I made one and found my boost leak at the throttle body boot....Nice big rip.

very common problem when you raise the boost on a 2.7T engine

did you buy OEM or aftermarket to replace the broken one?

No guarantee but this is a classic signature of an intake pressure leak. The most common is the TBB as likes to tear underneath the clamps, especially the large one attaching to the throttle body. As mentioned perform an intake pressure test as it will quickly identify a leaking intake component. Note that 10psi regulated air supply is plenty to perform the test and would not recommend going any higher.

Thank's for the responses. I am currently making the pressure tester. I took my intake off the other day and took the car around the corner and there was no problem with losing boost. I thought my air filter might have been plugged or something. Bought a new air filter and that was not the case. I don't understand because it seems like i'm choking my turbos not giving them enough air. I don't know....

I'm going to run the test tomorrow, i'll keep you posted thanks for the responses.
