Looking for some transmission advice...
I am experiencing a clickling noise that seems to be most prevalent in gears 1 through 3. (sounds like the noise we used to get when we strapped a hockey card to the back wheel of a bike!!).
Noise goes away completely when clutch pedal is depressed or foot is take off the gas.
There's also a slight clicking noise (not sure if transmission) when car is in neutral, which also goes away when clutch pedal is depressed.
Been to a few mechanics to diagnose.
All seem to agree that it's definitely the transmission, but not able to isolate the issue.
General consensus though is that it sounds like a bearing issue.
One thought it sounded like the input shaft bearing, but when I check out youtube videos of that, it's nothing like the sounds I'm getting.
Next problem is parts...
Seems like a lot of the parts required for a repair are not available from Audi.
Does anyone know anyone that supplies these manual transmission parts??
New transmission from Audi runs C$13,600, so very keen to figure this out and get it repaired!!
