big brake kits...worth it????
i will soon need to do a brake job and just wondering if anyone is running a brembo or stop tech setup. Dont know if its worth the $$. I had brembos on my porsche(R.I.P.) but dont know if its just better to buy cross drilled with stainless steel brake lines
i was eyeing the porsche/brembo setup on ECS Tuning :: OEM / Performance Parts for Volkswagen :: Front Page
any opinions

i have stop tech on my 02 s6. i like them. never drove this s6 without or one for a long time with out. this thing stops insane though. its a big car and the brakes help. if i were you and wanted some looks id probably go with a slotted rotor and some really good pads. go to audiworld.com those guys there are awesome, alot of knowledge when it comes to a good brake setup.
Are you tracking ? The BBK's have little effect on stopping distances but shine when it comes to getting rid of fade (and add bling factor ...). The one big benefit of some BBK's is the reduced unsprung weight (B5 S4 brakes weigh a ton) which translates to better accelleration, handling and ride.
hi, i have a set of d2 racing 356mm 8 pots and they are great but only notice the difference if pushing the car! so depends on how you drive if you spend the money
i'll give you a clue how i drive. Im a 22 year old....enough said =)
ne ways to be totally real with you i want it for the looks more than anything. My previous car was a 2007 987 Porsche Boxster (rosie) and i loved the way the brakes looked and my friend drives an sti with brembos and they look awesome and the fact i drive like a psycho

sounds like me!! lol hence i got big brakes! i do alot of trackdays and brakes are a must, get some you wont be disapointed plus they look soooooooooo nice
It's gonna come down to how much $$ you want to put out. The bbk kits are nice but you're gonna get opinions from "they're amazing" to "they have no feel and are useless unless you track the car". Personally, I'd say I drive pretty aggressively and opted to upgrade 1 step at a time to see where I'll be happy. I went with DBA (Disc Brakes Australia - DISC BRAKE ROTORS) 4000 series slotted rotors and Axxis (PBR - PBR Performance) pads.
For daily driving, they're great. Were slightly noisy at first but after you heat them up a tad, it goes away. They're not ideal for a full track day though.
As far as bling goes...they look pretty stock. But you won't pick up any chicks with big brakes
