6sp. Transmission rebuild.... where to take it?

So the 1-2 shift is starting to go bad on my B5 S4. The car has had a recent clutch and slave replacement here in victoria but I feel if the trans must come apart I want someone experienced to do the work. Might consider doing the K04 upgrade at the same time.

Anyone have a shop to recomend??
RPI?
HPA?

Thanks

Did you ever get your tranny fixed, what was the outcome?

I've been nursing it all this time. The summer makes a huge difference and it will actually shift OK.

A month and a half ago I kinda went off the deep end at VAST and ordered a stage 3 package. I tagged on an O1E rebuild kit and a JHE alloy shifter linkage as well as poly urathane engine and trans. mounts. (should all help shifting quality) Ive arranged to have an Audi mechanic do all the work on the side.

Project will start as soon as my VAST order gets here. Ill let you knowhow it all goes.

Great choice to go to VAST. This would have been my recommendation. What is shipping and customs costing you? There are from time to time people here going to VAST. Would picking it up and shipping it from Canada save you any money?

Let me know

I'm sure that driving to vast would be the cheapest route. If it was an option for me I would have. I haven't picked up my order yet but I'm guessing that the shipping, taxes and duty will be close to the $1200 range. Plus I have to ship cores back to Vast and send my ECU to them as well. All in all its a PITA but Prince at Vast was very helpfull and their reputation and experience makes the extra legwork worth it.

What I was refering too was that there is the odd trek from here to VAST and back (4 hrs) and if picking up your stuff and shipping it out from Canada saves you some money that might have been an option.

Great guys at VAST.

Oh...I see. That would have been a great idea. Thanks, but I'm affraid everything should be nearly here by now. The good news here on the coast is that I got all the parts shipped to the Clipper (a high speed ferry) in Seattle. Then everything comes across the water to Victoria and I clear it all through customs myself. (saves brokerage fees) But again, Thanks!
